Colleen Marie Ragans, 86, of Yorktown, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017. She was born May 17, 1930 to Lewis Edward and Alice Morris. 

 In 1970, Colleen and her husband Dewey of 57 years, purchased Western Auto from Clyde Collins and were owner/operators for 40 years. She was a founding member of Seaford Baptist Church. She loved the Lord, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she loved her church family. After retirement, they spent time with their grandchildren and traveled in their motor home.

 Colleen was preceded in death by her husband Dewey of 57 years; a son, Tommy Ragans, and two brothers, William and Carl.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Baker and her husband Grady of Gloucester; sons, Dewey Milton Ragans Jr. and his wife Cathy of Yorktown, Duane Ragans of Yorktown, and a daughter-in-law, Robin Ragans of Yorktown. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brandon, Dustin, Brittany, Jordan, Steven (Ashley), Matthew, Amanda (Mark), Jerry, Abby (Chris), Taylor, Laci, Amy, Keith (Elisa), Wayne, Grady Jr. (Tammy); great-grandchildren, Bryce, Shelby, Mason, Delilah, Avery, Amanda, and Grady III, Sydney, Marlin, Addison, Landon and Tyler; a brother, Tommy, and five sisters, Shirley Landrum, Elma Dare Gravely, Elva Lee Wallace, Kitty Mae Gause and Nannie Presson (Billy).

We would like to thank Warwick Forest for the loving care they gave our mother. You are the best, we love you all.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, at Seaford Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, at Seaford Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
