Coleman branches out to 2nd Main Street restaurant

Something new and exciting is coming to Main Street, the Gloucester Main Street Association announced this week.
When Dave Coleman purchased Lulu Birds Kitchen less than a year ago, he knew he was just getting started. Coleman, who has decades of experience in every aspect of the restaurant business, will be branching out with the purchase of 6769 Main Street, otherwise known as the T.C. Walker mural building, from Bill Seidel.
Construction on the interior will start later this summer, which includes a restaurant on the first floor and studio apartments upstairs.
“The new restaurant will have a really great vibe, unlike anything this area has seen before, a high-end tapas bar that is reminiscent of a chic London speakeasy, a ‘chic-easy,’ if you will,” said Coleman. Design features will include a live fireplace, 200-year-old Richmond brick, and specialty lighting to create intimate spaces.
