Cold weather keeps fish, anglers away from Beaverdam Reservoir

Several anglers braved the weather to be out on the Beaverdam Reservoir last week but reported little success, according to Beaverdam Park Supervisor Patti McGrath.

McGrath said the reservoir level has dropped about four inches below full pool over the past couple of weeks but predicted rain this week would replenish it. She also said the grass has died back a great deal, making it easier for boaters to get in and out of the lake from the Route 606 entrance.

Fishing forum to be held Dec. 9 at Beaverdam Park

Beaverdam Park will hold a fishing forum for Beaverdam Reservoir anglers beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, at the park’s Whitcomb Lodge. Park staff members will discuss the status of the lake and the fishing tournament schedule for 2014.
