Cobbs Creek resident concerned about possible dognapping case

Dandy, a lab/beagle mix belonging to Donna Edwards of Cobbs Creek, is safely back at home after taking an unexpected trip to Middlesex last week.

Edwards said the 10-year-old family pet typically goes outside a couple of times a day with a younger dog for bathroom breaks, but the two always return home within 45 minutes or so.

On the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 10, however, the puppy returned without the older dog, and Edwards immediately knew something was wrong. She looked around the neighborhood and in a nearby stand of woods for two days, but he never returned.

“My dog has not slept outside in 10 years,” she said.

Her daughter, Amy Hudgins, posted a photo of Dandy on Facebook shortly after he disappeared on Dec. 10 and asked for help finding him. The following evening she received a response.
