CNU’s Holly Koons to serve as judge for Bay School Juried Exhibition

Holly Koons, executive director of the new Mary M. Torggler Fine Arts Center at Christopher Newport University, will be the juror and judge for the Bay School Community Arts Center’s 2023 Art Speaks Juried Exhibition. The exhibition will be on display April 29–May 29 in the Art Speaks Gallery on Main Street in Mathews.

As executive director of the fine arts center, Koons presents changing exhibitions and supervises programs and operations, said an email release.The former executive director of the Arlington Arts Center in Virginia, Koons spent four years directing the center’s administration, development and creative strategy, said the release. Prior to that, she had 20 years of experience in nonprofit visual arts curation and management, serving as executive director of the Greater Reston Arts Center (now the Tephra Institute of Contemporary Art, located in Northern Virginia) and as director of collections and exhibitions at the Telfair Museums in Savannah, Georgia.
