A number of closings of offices and other public facilities were announced for the Christmas holiday.

All courts in both counties will close at noon on Friday, Dec. 22, and remain closed through Christmas Day, reopening on Tuesday, Dec. 26.

All county offices in Gloucester will close at noon on Friday and remain closed through Tuesday, reopening on Wednesday, Dec. 27.

Most county offices in Mathews will close at noon on Friday and remain closed for Christmas Day, reopening on Tuesday, Dec. 26. However, the offices of the Mathews County Treasurer and Commissioner of the Revenue will be closed all day on Friday, Dec. 22, and remain closed through Wednesday, reopening on Thursday, Dec. 28.

Gloucester libraries will close at noon on Friday and remain closed through Tuesday, reopening on Wednesday, Dec. 27. Mathews Memorial Library will be closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday for the holiday.
