The Mathews County Board of Supervisors will hold a special closed meeting at 10 a.m. Friday in the historic courthouse on Court Street to consult with legal counsel on matters pertaining to the lease on the Seabreeze Restaurant, Grimstead.

A press release from Mathews County Administrator Mindy Conner cited Section 2.2-3711 (A)(7) of the Code of Virginia, which states that such closed meetings may be held “where … consultation or briefing in open meeting would adversely affect the negotiating or litigating posture of the public body” or when there will be discussion “regarding specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice by … counsel.” ...
