Clifton M. Hudgins of Alexandria, Va., passed away on May 9, 2022. He was predeceased by his parents, John C. and Virginia M. Hudgins; a brother, Darden Hudgins, and a very special niece, Bonnie Sandahl. He was born Sept 13, 1932 in Baltimore, Md. but was raised in Mathews, Va. He served for six years in the U.S. Air Force, completing basic training in Sampson, N.Y. and serving in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Japan, the Philippines, the UK and then received an Honorable Discharge from service. He leaves behind many loving friends; two nieces, Amy Morgan (John Cottee) and Kristi Hunt (Jesse), along with several great-nieces and -nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Christ Episcopal Church in Mathews. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to local Alcoholics Anonymous in his name or to the Gwynn’s Island Museum.
