Each year, thousands of shelter animals wait patiently for their forever homes. This August, the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society is joining the nationwide Clear the Shelters campaign to help more animals find loving families.
Through Aug. 31, GMHS is reducing adoption fees by 50 percent to remove barriers for those ready to open their homes to a new best friend. Since its launch in 2015, Clear the Shelters has helped more than 1 million pets find adoptive homes through local shelters and rescues.
GMHS is proud to be a part of this life-saving movement again in 2025, offering potential adopters the chance to meet and fall in love with cats, dogs, rabbits, and others—all while making a difference.
This campaign helps shine a light on the incredible animals who come through our doors each day. Many of our pets are with us through no fault of their own—they’ve lost their families due to housing challenges, medical expenses, or life changes. Every one of them deserves a second chance.
