Cleanup planned for Point Beach

The Gloucester Clean Community will lead a cleanup at Gloucester Point Beach in tandem with other organizations around the globe for International Coastal Cleanup Day and World Cleanup Day on Saturday, Sept. 16.

The International Coastal Cleanup is the world’s largest volunteer effort on behalf of ocean and waterway health.

Volunteers are to bring their own gloves, drinks and snacks and are to dress appropriately. Check-in begins at 8 a.m. and will end at 11 o’clock. Clean Community will provide grabbers, buckets, bags, clipboards, data sheets and writing utensils. For more information, contact the Clean Community office at cleancommunity@gloucesterva.info or 804-693-5370.

Those interested in participating can sign up at forms.office.com/g/A8LRRPcSh. Those unable to sign up online are asked to call so organizers will know how many to expect.
