Clean Gloucester Day to be held Saturday

The seventh annual Clean Gloucester Day will be held at various locations throughout the county from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday.

As of Friday, approximately 550 people had signed up to participate, according to Clean Community Coordinator René Moring. A goal of 650 volunteers has been set and more individuals and groups are welcome to sign up and participate.

Advance notice helps Moring have adequate trash bags, litter grabbers and reflective vests for as many volunteers as possible.

 Last year, 587 volunteers participated in Clean Gloucester Day, which Moring said is a way to spruce up the county before the many visitors arrive for the Daffodil Festival, which will be held Saturday and Sunday, April 1-2. The rain date for Clean Gloucester Day is Saturday, March 25.
