Clean Gloucester Day

The Abingdon Ruritan Club sent out two crews to pick up trash on Gloucester roadways Saturday as part of the overall Clean Gloucester Day effort. Fourteen members signed in at the club for an 8 a.m. start to the day, with 49 bags of trash of trash collected. Among those taking part in the cleanup were, front row from left, Yvonne Scales, Lynn Onesty, Andrea Crawford, vice president Mary Lou Shepherd, Betsy Tuttle; back row, Bob Stifel, Dave Kyle, environment chair Allen Scales, Roger Dick, Jim Stevens, Dave Simmons and, not pictured, president Frank Gillerlain and Sid Dugas (photographer). Ruritan member Marsha Weatherwax and her family Matt and Mimi, not pictured, also said they picked up a large truckload of debris.
