CLAUDINE COPE TIEMAN

Claudine Cope Tieman, 87, of Gloucester, passed away at her home on Feb. 11, 2013.

Claudine was born on April 28, 1925 in Oklahoma City, Okla. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Ezra and Mary Lou Cope, and her husband of over 50 years, Milton.

Claudine was a military wife, following her husband from pillar to post, from continent to continent, often being the single parent in her husband’s absence. Claudine loved to travel and she and Milton spent many years on the road RVing with friends.

With her warm smile and outgoing personality Claudine made friends wherever she went. Prior to moving to Virginia to be close to her daughters, Claudine lived in Zavalla, Texas, with her husband until his death.

Claudine was a member of White Marsh Baptist in White Marsh, Va.

She is survived by two daughters, Anita Tieman of Yorktown, and Claudia Thomas and her husband Bill of Gloucester, Va., and three sisters, Dorothy Lee of Richardson, Texas; Barbara Thomas of Albuquerque, N.M., and Shirley Alverez of Clovis, N.M.

A celebration of Claudine’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 23, 2013 at White Marsh Baptist Church.
