CLARENCE PAUL LEE

Clarence Paul Lee, 83, of Gloucester, died Wednesday, March 17, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie C. Lee Jr. and Bernice Phillips Lee, and his siblings, Viola Foster, Waldron Lee and Lawrence Lee.

He was a lifelong member of First Morning Star Baptist Church, Bena, where he served as Superintendent of the Sunday School, Chairman of the Deacons Board, on the Church Building Committee and Missionary Ministry. He was a Trustee, Church Treasurer and member of the Men’s and Senior Choir, and a Sunday School teacher. In 2019, he received recognition for 70 years of service to the church.

Lee graduated in 1957 from T.C. Walker High School; after graduation he served four years in the Army Reserve. He retired from the Naval Weapons Station as a Lead Quality Inspection Specialist.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Alma; children, Gwendolyn, Vincent, Clarence, and Kimberly; his siblings, Pernell Lee, Rose Lewis, Alberta Jackson, and John Lee; nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

A livestreamed service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24 at Whiting’s Funeral Home. Burial was in the cemetery of First Morning Star Baptist Church, Bena.
