Clamming in Bar Neck

The Barneck girls went out on a clamming expedition and succeeded in getting about 1,500 clams from the Barneck flats. Miss Ruth was champion of the crowd. They get the clams by walking out on the bar at low water, finding them by their holes, and digging them out of the sand with a sharp flat stick.

The infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Owens Jr. of Diggs died last Friday of pneumonia, age 12 months.

Miss Lucy Virginia Sibley gave a birthday party to her little friends in her pretty new home near the village on Wednesday afternoon, from 3 to 5 o’clock.
