York Spit Light has seen a number of citation red drum catches this month.

Local anglers catching and releasing, as required, citation-length drum at the Light have included the following:

Kyle Flippin of Bena, 50-inch fish on April 4; Cole Flippin of Hayes, 51.5-inch fish on April 4; Cory Maley of Hayes, 50-incher on April 4; Matthew Pierro of Gloucester, 52-inch fish on April 4. Thomas W. Hodges of Gloucester caught a 50-inch red drum at Poquoson Flats on April 4.

These catches were listed among new citations in the April 22 vasaltwaterjournal.com.

In another report, Robert F. Flippin of Gloucester was credited with a citation catch-and-release 47-inch rockfish in the Rappahannock River on March 15.
