CHRISTOPHER RAY JENKINS

Christopher Ray Jenkins (Chris), 24, of Hayes, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018.

A native of Gloucester County, Chris was born on Aug. 5, 1993, to Michael Ray and Hope Annette Jenkins of Hayes.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Pete Dunston.

Christopher was a kind person with a gentle soul who loved deeply. Always willing to lend a hand when needed, he could often be found helping friends or family. He had an energetic contagious smile that could light up a room, soft blue eyes bright as the sky, a magnetic personality, and a sense of humor that could brighten the darkest day. A true country boy at heart as a very young boy and leading into his teenage years, Chris loved riding dirt bikes and three wheelers. As he grew older his greatest loves were spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, mudding in a four wheel drive, tearing up a dirt road or a swamp with or without his best buddies, and just hanging out with the guys. While he never met a stranger, Chris’s small group of best friends were people he could always count on and describe him best as being the same. He was there for everyone he knew. The laughter he could bring to a conversation could leave one’s stomach aching, and he never missed an opportunity to do so. He so loved to laugh and make others laugh. He will be so dearly and deeply missed by those he left behind.

He is survived by his father, Michael Jenkins; mother, Hope Jenkins; his younger brother, Nicholas Jenkins; five children: his twin daughters, Maysan and Graysan Acton, sons, Brantley Jenkins, Bryce Jenkins and Gunner Jenkins; paternal grandparents, Lewis and Nancy Jenkins; maternal grandmother, Ann Dunston; aunts and uncles include, Janet Jenkins, Alice and Ray Cruz, Jason Jenkins, Rita and Michael Snodgrass, Abigail and Michael Walker, Carlton and Betsy Belvin, Paul and Rhonda Belvin, David Belvin, and a large host of cousins and extended family members.

Memorial service officiated by the Rev. Arthur Wolz Jr. will be held 4 p.m. Friday June 15, 2018, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Please visit www.hoggfh.com to share condolences and memories.
