Gloucester residents are encouraged to bring their live/real Christmas trees to any convenience center in the county and place it in the appropriate bin for recycling, said Clean Community coordinator Lee Fuerst.

The holiday collection period will begin this Sunday and continue through Jan. 31, 2016. Fuerst asked residents to remove all decorations so that trees can be chipped into mulch.

Mulch is free to Gloucester residents, she said, and will be available at the Middle Peninsula Landfill and Recycling Center at Owl Trap. Call 693-5884 to check on the availability of mulch. ...
