The United Methodist Women of Emmanuel and Grace-Providence churches (now the West Mathews United Methodist Women) saw an overwhelming response to the Christmas stocking drive, providing 48 filled stockings for boys and girls of all ages and a large bag full of gifts for adults. Mathews Social Services was most appreciative for the generosity to its Christmas Store.
