50 YEARS AGOThursday, Dec. 27, 1973from the Gazette-Journal A Christmas play enacting the famous poem, “The Night Before Christmas” was presented last week to students at Botetourt Elementary School.Characters in the play were Nancy Ewell, narrator; Greg Carmine, father; Sheila Kendrick, mother; Melora Sidney, girl; Steve Cluverious, boy; Lamar Bartlett, Santa Claus; and Karen Pittman, sugar plum fairy. Scenery for the play was created by Keith Robinson, Sam Batten, Mark Sebera, Tim Sebera, Michael Gumm, Brent Moore, and Keith Stokes under the direction of Mrs. Judy Cannon. Damon Horsley was in charge of lights.
