The Mission and Evangelism Committee of Central United Methodist Church, Mathews, held a Christmas in July celebration earlier this year, complete with a traditional holiday dinner, caroling and gifting. The recipient of the gifts was the Mathews County Social Services Christmas Store. Presenting a check for $275 to Bernadette LaCasse, who heads the program, is committee member Nancy Jagger.
