The public is invited to sing Christmas carols at 6:30 tonight, Thursday, Dec. 17, at the Halcyon Building on Court Street in Mathews, prior to the screening of the Christmas classic “Miracle on 34th Street.”
The Mathews Film Society event will be hosted by Donna Strother Deekens, former Miller and Rhoads “Snow Queen,” and Jody Weaver Yuhase, daughter of “The Real Santa,” Eddie Weaver.
Those attending are invited to bring pictures and any memories they have of their visits to see Santa Claus at Miller and Rhoads or Thalhimers, a Richmond tradition from 1971 to 1991.
The evening is free and open to the public. Reindeer cake and discussion will follow the screening. ...
