Christmas Blessing Fund surpasses halfway mark

After two weeks, the 2023 Mathews Ruritan Club Christmas Blessing Fund has surpassed the halfway mark toward its goal of $20,000, honorary chairperson Amy Ashberry announced. Donations of $11,321 have been received so far.

There is still time to make a donation. Tax-deductible contributions to assist needy families in Mathews with home heating costs may be sent to: Christmas Blessing Fund, P.O. Box 74, Mathews, Va. 23109. If you have any questions, call Charles H. (Sonny) Richardson Jr. at 804-815-8422.

“Now, more than ever, needy families in our community depend on our help in keeping their families warm and safe,” a release stated.
