A funeral for Christine E. Smith of Cobbs Creek, will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 12, in First Baptist Church, Mathews. She died Aug. 6, 2017.

She was born in Mathews, and was a member of First Baptist Church, Mathews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Tyler Smith, and her brother, Stanley Jones of New York.

Survivors include four children, Carolyn Jones of King and Queen, Eleanor Dixon of Cobbs Creek, Nancy Beverly of Middlesex, and James G. Smith of Cobbs Creek; three grandchildren, and one-great-grandchild.

There will be a viewing on Friday, Aug. 11 from 5-8 p.m. at Forrest Brothers Funeral Home in Hudgins, and also from 11 a.m.-noon before the service at the church. Burial will be at Windsor Gardens, Dutton.

In lieu of flowers, the family desires for donations to be made to the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad or First Baptist Church.
