Christine E. Davis of Wilmington, Del., born in Ware Neck, Va., on July 16, 1930, departed this life on Nov. 7, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. 

She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, the Rev. James C. Davis; children, Denise Scales (Albert), Maurice C. Hinson, Arlene M. Hinson (Kansas City, Mo.), Patricia Hutchinson (Thomas) and Michele D. Hinson; stepchildren, James, Branch, Henry Davis Sr. and Donna Davis; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Velma Greene of Ordinary, Va., and a host of nieces, nephews and her beloved poodle, DeDe. 

Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 1325 Barksdale Rd., Newark, Del. A public viewing will begin promptly at 8:45 a.m.-9:45 a.m.; with formal home-going celebration to follow; interment in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Union Zion Baptist Church, 6145 Ware Neck Rd., Gloucester, Va. 23061.
