Congregations across Gloucester County came together last Thursday, Jan. 22, for an ecumenical worship service in observance of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity hosted by Gloucester’s Newington Baptist Church. All of the participating congregations are members of the Jubilee Churches of Gloucester, which is a coalition of several congregations that work together to help prevent homelessness. The Rev. Patti Money, below, pastor of Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church, gave the sermon. The Rev. Ed Walker, pastor of Bellamy United Methodist Church, is the convener of the Jubilee Churches. A combined choir from the different churches under the direction of Newington’s Worship Director, Heather King, performed an anthem during the service. A reception was held after the service.
