Chowder sale

The Abingdon Ruritan Club clam chowder sale was a success, selling out 300 quarts in an hour and a half on a chilly Saturday morning. Proceeds go to Cub Scout Pack 133, whose members helped in the sale. Club members Jimmy Hogge, David Dea, Chuck Harris and Roger Dick, from left, were busy behind the scenes cooking the chowder. The next Abingdon Ruritan Club chowder sale will be held on Saturday, Feb. 12, one day before Super Bowl Sunday. “We plan to make additional chowder to accommodate all who come,” a club release stated.
