Cho represents counties in National Spelling Bee

Page Middle School eighth grader Jeffrey Cho will represent Gloucester and Mathews next week in the National Scripps Spelling Bee, to be held in Washington, D.C. To qualify, Cho won the regional bee held in March in Mathews, sponsored by Adult Literacy on the Middle Peninsula.

He has been assigned Number 266 and his progress through preliminary rounds, and possibly to the televised rounds next Wednesday and Thursday on ESPN, can be followed online at spellingbee.com, a release said.

Cho has won the Mathews Market Days Spelling Bee for the last three years and is an A honor roll student at Page. He is also a member of the Page basketball team and volunteers at the Gloucester Library. ...
