In Blakes news, a large crowd attended the children’s day exercises at the Mathews Chapel on Sunday last. They had a very nice program.Miss Malissa Foster, who has been sick for a good many years, seems to be holding on, but is not able to go about yet. I think it is our duty, especially young people, to go and see her sometimes and speak a few words of encouragement.

The baseball club of little boys of Blakes played with the Foster Club Saturday afternoon. The Blakes club seem to be very proud, because they whipped the Foster Club.

Children’s Day exercises at Bethel on Sunday night were a great success. A very large crowd was in attendance, the program was fine and a large collection received.

There will be a lawn party and tennis tournament held at Mobjack about June 20. Everyone is invited to compete for premiums; one for singles and one for doubles.
