Chesapeake looks to Boost local businesses with incentive program

Chesapeake Bank is partnering with the Mathews County Visitor and Information Center, Mathews County Economic Development Authority, Gloucester Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Preservation Trust, the Gloucester Main Street Association and Xtra99FM to sprinkle some fun throughout Mathews and Gloucester during November and December.

As if there wasn’t already enough incentive, the Boost program gives consumers another reason to shop local. The bank and its partners have joined with the local business community to offer $27,400 in shopping dollars which will be converted into $50 gift cards that will sell for $25 each at various pop-up events in the community.

Pop-up events to sell the gift cards will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12, at M&M Building Supply in Mathews; 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, at the Gloucester Brewing Company; 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, at Scoot’s BBQ in Hayes.
