After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the Chesapeake Chorale, a mixed-voice community chorus, has announced the return of its Christmas concerts the first weekend in December 2022. This will be a schedule of long-awaited performances marking our 25th anniversary year.
The Chesapeake Chorale will celebrate its 25th anniversary with the following concerts: Dec. 2 at Northumberland High School; Dec. 3 at Lancaster Middle School; Dec. 4 at St. Clare Walker Middle School, Saluda, and Dec. 5, Historic Christ Church, Weems. The first two concerts begin at 8 p.m.; the final two at 3 p.m.
Rehearsals will begin on Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 303 South Main Street, Kilmarnock.
The Chesapeake Chorale board and music director Dr. Cheryl Davis are looking forward to the return of singers who have participated in past years, and to greeting those who are looking for new choral adventures, a release stated.
“There are no auditions required; come enjoy the first opportunity in two long years to bring the Christmas message back through song,” the release ended.
