Chesapeake Bay Writers to hold End-of-Year Celebration Nov. 13

Chesapeake Bay Writers, a chapter of the Virginia Writers Club, will hold its annual End-of-Year Celebration from 5:30-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at Anna’s Brick Oven, 2021-D Richmond Road, Williamsburg. The festive event will offer “authentic Italian cuisine, lively literary readings, and community spirit,” said a press release. Participants in the Golden Nib Competition will be recognized, and winners will receive awards for their outstanding stories, poems, and essays, said the release. The highlight of the evening will be an Open Mic contest, during which authors are invited to read an eight-minute excerpt of their work. Those attending will vote for the works that resonate with them the most, selecting the top three winners. To participate, authors must register in advance.
