Chesapeake Bay Writers begins meeting transformation

The Chesapeake Bay Writers has decided to begin transforming from its restrictive pandemic meeting guidelines into a schedule that combines online meetings with the group’s traditional in-person lunch format.

“Having weathered the pandemic, we are poised to thrive in the coming year,” said CBW president Carol J. Bova. An online meeting featuring guest speaker Bradley Harper, author of “A Knife in the Fog” and “Queen’s Gambit,” was successful, she said, with Harper’s topic, “It’s Never Too Late to Write,” touching on his own literary journey. She said it provided insights into achieving personal writing goals.

Planning for the group’s online June 16 meeting is underway with additional input from board members and award-winning local author Sally Honenberger, said Bova. Future plans include an in-person luncheon meeting in September at LeYaca Restaurant in Williamsburg and an All Stars Gala meeting in November.
