Chesapeake Bank’s Mathews branch moving this weekend

After months of planning and remodeling, the Mathews branch of Chesapeake Bank is finally ready to move into its new quarters in the former Bank of America building on Buckley Hall Road.

Regional Executive Melissa Crawford said the move will take place this weekend. The bank will close as usual at noon on Saturday, and employees will immediately begin to transfer to the new location. The newly redesigned and redecorated bank at 10458 Buckley Hall Road will open for business at 9 a.m. Monday.

Safe deposit boxes will be moved at a later date, said Crawford, and customers will not need to do anything. They will have the same boxes, which will remain closed and locked at all times, and the move will take place under the oversight of a security officer and police escort.
