Chesapeake Bank donates $50,000 to Gloucester Y

Chesapeake Bank has made a gift of $50,000 to kick off the Gloucester Family YMCA Founders Campaign.

“Chesapeake Bank is proud to support the work of the YMCA in our communities,” said Melissa Crawford, VP/Business Development Manager at Chesapeake Bank. “We are excited to see the YMCA expanding in our Gloucester market to more fully serve the community’s needs.”

Chesapeake Bank’s gift brings the campaign to a quarter of its $200,000 goal to support initial operating and equipment cost for the facility. The facility will provide 9,500 square feet for older adult programming, teen activities, wellness and exercise equipment, group exercise classes, Child Watch, locker rooms and office space.

Stephen Friedrich serves as Gloucester Committee Chair and is joined by Crawford, Makalia Records, Diane Bell, Elizabeth McCormick, Sharon Joyce, Misty Mounts and Johanna Northstein.
