Chesapeake Bank CEO to lead American Bankers Association

Jeffrey M. Szyperski, chairman, president and CEO of Chesapeake Bank, has been nominated to be chairman of the American Bankers Association board of directors for 2018-2019.

Szyperski currently serves as chairman-elect of the American Bankers Association. Headquartered in Kilmarnock, Chesapeake Bank has locations on the Northern Neck, Williamsburg and Richmond, in addition to the branches at Gloucester, Mathews and Hayes.

He heads the slate of candidates for ABA officers for election at the association’s annual convention to be held Oct. 21-23 in New York. Also nominated were Laura Lee “Laurie” Stewart of Sound Community Bank in Seattle (chairman-elect), James J. Edward Jr. of United Bank in Griffin, Georgia (vice chairman) and Luther Deaton Jr. of Central Bank and Trust Co. in Lexington, Kentucky (treasurer).
