Cheryl (Cherry) Craidon Bethel of Hayes, passed away surrounded by family on March 4, 2013.

She is survived by her loving husband, Tom; and daughters, Stephanie Williams-Ortery and her husband Bryan; Katy Lloyd-Mustian and her husband Tom (Buddy); her son, Marc and his wife Lindsey. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Logan Williams, Morgan Williams, Bryan Ortery Jr., Joshua Ortery, Spencer Lloyd and Carter Mustian, who all brought abundant joy to her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Charlotte Craidon.

Cherry was born in Atkins, Ark., but spent most of her life in Virginia. She graduated from Hampton High School in 1966. Cherry led a successful career working many years at Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown; she retired from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Gloucester, where she was able to share her joy of wildlife conservation, which augmented her unprecedented support of animal rescue.

Funeral arrangements are private; however, the family would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and family that have provided support, thoughts and prayers to Cherry and her family during her courageous battle with cancer.
