Cheryl Ann Hudgins, 58, of New Point, Virginia, departed her earthly life on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. She was born on May 4, 1967 to John E. Hudgins and the late Justine Cook Ransom. Cheryl was raised in New Point and attended New Point School and graduated from Mathews High School in 1985. She was a self-employed carpenter and an avid animal lover. She was always helping strays and being a devoted Maw-Maw to her two grandchildren. Because she never met a stranger, she was a friend to many. Cheryl had a kind heart and was always willing to help someone.
She is survived by her father, John Hudgins; her daughter, Elizabeth Anderson; her grandchildren, Johnathon Carnegie and Lillie Anderson; her aunt and uncle, Marlene and Jerry Lucas; two special friends, Sally and Damon Horsley, and a host of cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2 p.m., at Damon’s Sports Bar and Grill in Gloucester. There will also be a graveside service at a later date at St. Paul Annex Cemetery, Susan, conducted by Pastor Dede Parrish.
