Charles Stanley Harris, 67, of Newport News, died June 27, 2016 at his home.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and retired from Post Browning Spectrum as a Security Tech in 2012.

Being an avid motorcyclist he enjoyed many hours riding with the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Charles was a champion breeder of coonhound dogs. He never met a stranger, loved people, and had a heart of gold. We will miss his warm smile and kind ways.

His parents, Charles S. Harris and Jean F. Harris, and first wife, Linda Marie Strohmeyer Harris, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Harrell Harris; and brother, Michael Harris, and a host of friends.

Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Arthur L. Wolz Jr. will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2016, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 10-11 on Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Windsor Gardens Mausoleum and Cemetery.
