Charles Rilee Thrift, 71, of Gloucester, passed away on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Jesse Thrift, and is survived by his daughter, Angela Landes (Tim Moore); grandson, Austin Landes; brother, Bill Thrift (Jessie Ann); sister, Katherine Milby (Dennis), and his niece, Leslie Thrift.

He retired from the Naval Weapons Station Yorktown and later worked for Newton’s Bus Service.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, in New Hope United Methodist Church, Gloucester, with interment in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Monday at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Saluda.
