Charles John Szapor, 83, of Shacklefords, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at his home. He was born in Passaic, New Jersey, and was of Hungarian decent. He lived and worked in northern and southern New Jersey for most of his life and lived in Barnegat Light, New Jersey, for approximately 30 years before moving to Virginia. He had a great love for fishing and boating.
He held many jobs during his life. While living in Virginia he worked for Mobjack Bay Seafood as a driver, Sanders Construction as a driver, and Crown Pointe Marina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Racz; son, Lewis Szapor; siblings, Joe Szapor, Dennis Szapor, Rose Szumski, and is survived by his wife, Gail Hunter Smith; daughter, Tina Richardson; siblings, Ernest Szapor, Steve Szapor, Madeline C. Pyle, and Mary Lou Kiwior.
The family would like to give special thanks to Riverside Walter Reed Hospice for their care. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
