CHARLES D. STODDARD

Charles D. Stoddard, 76, of Gloucester, Va., passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., to the late Harvey S. and Margaret Warner Stoddard.

Charlie served his country for over 30 years in the U.S. Army and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 4. He was a member of Bellamy United Methodist Church in Gloucester, and Schoharie Reformed Church in Schoharie, N.Y., the Warrant Officers Association, The Retired Officers Association, American Legion, NRA, and the Hudson Mohawk Chapter of Antique Gas Engines Association.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemarie Stoddard; his daughters, Michelle Walden and her husband Randy of Stafford, and Melissa Harris and her husband Alan of Gloucester; his siblings, Harvey Stoddard and his wife Joan of New York, Roy Stoddard and his wife Arvilla of South Carolina, Joseph Stoddard and his wife Lillian of Massachusetts, Margaret Thibodeau and her husband Al of Florida, John Stoddard and his wife Jacqueline of Florida, Nancy Oliver and her husband Ronald of New York, and Patricia Dewsbury and her husband Tony of Florida; his grandsons, Kyle Walden, Seth Walden, Ryan Speray, Eric Speray, and Kevin Speray, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family received friends at Bellamy United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 15, 2013, from 1-2 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 2 o’clock.

Memorial donations may be made to either Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 1417, Gloucester, Va. 23061, or to Bellamy United Methodist Church, 4870 Chestnut Fork Road, Gloucester, Va. 23061.

Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, was in charge of arrangements.
