Charles Ben Haywood Sr., 97, of Bavon, Va., passed away at his home on March 5, 2024. He was the son of the late Rennie Dean and Martha Fitchett Haywood. He was also predeceased by his brother, Calvin Haywood, and granddaughter, Angela Ashberry. He was retired from M&G Transportation, after which he worked part-time with Newton’s Bus Service. He was a member of Beulah Church in Bavon.

He is survived by his wife of 77 years, Eileen Lewis Haywood; children, Christy Love (Pepper), Cindy Daly, Cheryl Cooper (Mike) and Charles B. Haywood Jr. (Annette); sister-in-law, Christine Haywood; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Beulah Church, 1130 Lighthouse Road, Port Haywood, Va. 23138; Mathews Volunteer Fire Department or Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad. The family would like to give special thanks to Riverside Walter Reed Hospice, Ivy and Alverta for the care they gave.
