CHANDLER ‘CHAD’ CHRISTIAN SHETTERLY

On Oct. 22, 2003, Chandler “Chad” Christian Shetterly was born as a fraternal twin, and he gave his mother the honor of being his earthly mother for 13 years. On Friday, July 21, 2017 while playing in the river, Chad was called home and hurried from this life, and passed into the world of spirits and into the loving arms of the Lord.

He had just passed the seventh grade at Page Middle School in Gloucester. His favorite things to do were tinkering in the yard with all his yard toys: weed eater, mower, leaf blower, and four-wheeler. He liked to cook, and watch YouTube videos of four-wheelers and lawn mowers.

Chad is survived by his parents, David and Cynthia Shetterly of Gloucester; siblings, Andrew Mathews, Tiffany Lapitan, Samantha, Tara, and Emily.

Special thanks to Abingdon Fire and Rescue, U.S. Coast Guard Dive Team, Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, York County Fire and Life Safety, Newport News Fire Department, Virginia Marine Police, Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, helicopter crews from Air Station Elizabeth City, Boat Crew Station Milford Haven in Hudgins, Virginia, Coast Guard Cutter, Flying Fish Crew from Little Creek, Virginia and to all who donated funds.

A funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at 6 p.m. at Reedswood Christian Church, 7694 Meredith Drive, Gloucester.

Memorial donations may be sent to Andrews Funeral Home in Gloucester.
