Chamber getting back to normal after pandemic year

The Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce is beginning to get back to normal after the past year was interrupted by COVID-19.

The chamber will be hosting “Love Local” on Sept. 18, an event that will feature a variety of local businesses. Currently, the chamber is looking for all kinds of vendors to participate in this event. Food trucks, wineries, breweries, artists, jewelry makers, and retailers as well as chamber members are welcome to setup a booth.

The event will be held at the Abingdon Ruritan Club, located at 8784 Guinea Road in Hayes, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Contact Chamber Executive Director Makalia Records at chamberexec@glocochamber.org for more information about this event.

“We want to reconnect business in Gloucester post-COVID,” said Records.

On Aug. 19, the chamber will hold a Business After Hours event at BayPort Credit Union, located at 6723 Fox Centre Parkway in Gloucester. In October, there will be another Business After Hours event at Truist (SunTrust and BB&T), located at 7171 George Washington Memorial Highway in Gloucester. November’s Business After Hours event will be held at Chesapeake Bank’s Cash Flow, located at 6421 Canon Way in Gloucester. Each event will be held from 5:30-7 p.m.

Records said that there is not a location for a December Business After Hours event yet. If any business is interested in hosting, contact Records.

Each Business After Hours event will be held on the third Thursday of the month with the exception of December, which will be held on the second Thursday.
