The ladies and members of Central M. E. Church gave a very delightful reception at the parsonage to Rev. Richard Ferguson and his bride on Thursday last. Quite an attractive luncheon and refreshments were served and a cordial and hospitable welcome extended by the people of the community to the popular pastor and his charming wife.

Continued efforts by County Clerk B.B. Roane and Congressman S. Otis Bland during the past six years to secure a captured German cannon as a war trophy for Gloucester County had fruition Tuesday in the arrival at Gloucester Point of an Austrian 88-millimetre gun and carriage from the Government arsenal at Raritan, N.J. The gun now occupies a temporary position opposite the courthouse, facing east, and will probably be assigned a permanent location somewhere on the court green by the Board of Supervisors at their regular monthly meeting ...
