Central United Methodist Church, Mathews, will sponsor a “Rise Against Hunger” event at the church at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19. The plan is to package 2,500 meals in two hours.

The food can be sent anywhere in the world that is facing a food crisis. Everyone is asked to join in the effort to assist the hunger in this lifesaving event. A traditional Thanksgiving dinner will follow.
