Celebration for library’s opening of teen territory to be held April 22

Mathews Memorial Library will have a “Who Are They?” event at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, to celebrate the recent opening of its Teen Territory. The space, located in the H. Bland Hudgins Wing, is devoted entirely to the needs and interests of young people ages 13 to 18.

For this event, the library has chosen to recognize and honor young people of Mathews who have exhibited outstanding leadership qualities in one or more fields of endeavor, including education, sports and community involvement.

The source of this information is the Gazette-Journal, where articles concerning the accomplishments of the individuals or groups appeared during the last year.

An exhibit featuring some of these teen leaders will be unveiled in Teen Territory. In addition, representatives from each leadership field will participate in a panel discussion of the secrets of their success and what they believe are keys to becoming a leader.
