While adorable photos and playful videos may dominate social media on March 23, the day also serves a deeper purpose: raising awareness about pet adoption and the thousands of puppies and kittens in shelters who are waiting for loving homes. At the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, puppy wiggles and kitten purrs are more than just heart-melting moments: they represent hope. Each young animal that comes through the door has a story.
