Melany Paige Slaughter and Gino Cordner Cecchi were married at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at Old St. John’s Church, West Point. Winfield Gross, a pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church, Cary, N.C., officiated. Music was provided by Gilbert Ruff, D.J., at the reception. Melany’s bridesmaids were Savannah Haugdahl, Taylor Northrop, Geneva Waynick and Alexia Hopson. Kyle Slaughter, brother of the bride, escorted her down the aisle. Gino’s groomsmen were Lee Cecchi and Nathan Perry and groomswomen Taylor Burford and Amanda Bentley. The bride is the daughter of Tracy and Robbie Whitehurst of Dutton. The groom is the son of Amanda and Lee Cecchi of Fuquay-Varina, N.C. Mistress of ceremonies was Lisa Thomas, assisted by Wren Stewart, handling programs.
